It’s a time to share in the fellowship of friends and neighbors, play games and enjoy all the great entertainment and good food.The Pike County Relay for Life board wants everyone to come out and enjoy everything that is planned.“Tonight is for everyone who has been a part of Relay, as team members and as those who contributed to the many fundraising activities,” said Kay Franklin, American Cancer Society community representative. “We want everyone who wants to see cancer a thing of the past to come out and join us. The Troy Parks and Recreation concession stand will be open so there will be food as well as fun for everyone.” Plans underway for historic Pike County celebration Pike County Sheriff’s Office offering community child ID kits Taylor Jinright, co-chair of the 2011 Pike County Relay for Life campaign said she was most impressed with the reverence, with which the Troy University students approached the Luminary Walk held during the university’s Relay event.“The Luminary Walk is one of the most moving events of Relay,” Jinright said. “And, it very important for everyone to be able to hear the names as they are read. They are the reason we relay.”Luminaries will be available throughout the night for $5 each. Those who would like to purchase a luminary may do so at the Luminary booth.
